A unique opportunity has arisen for Social Care Advisors to join our First Contact Team where you will be working jointly for two high performing London councils, Richmond and Wandsworth Better Service Partnership.
The Richmond and Wandsworth Better Service Partnership serves over half a million residents across Richmond and Wandsworth, and we are passionate about developing and transforming services to really connect with the communities we serve. We want to recruit and retain staff who are representative of the residents we serve.
We take any opportunity to truly make a difference to the lives of people approaching adult social care for the first time. You will be based in the First Contact team within the Front Door service. We provide an effective, accessible, customer-focussed first point of contact service for Adult Social Care.
We are looking for someone who shares our values and commitment to improve the lives of our residents with a keen interest to learn and innovate and a commitment to strengths-based practice and prevention. You will provide good quality information and advice on Council and partner services to people contacting the Council via a range of different channels. You will effectively identify known adults, new referrals, and unpaid carers to offer them the best user journey and experience possible.
About the role
You will be required to:
- Work creatively with residents and explore all available preventative options, connecting people to local services and communities.
- To be professionally curious when speaking to individuals and their carers to identify needs and risks within statutory frameworks, using a strengths-based and person-centred approach.
- Be able to have good, clear, open conversations with people to identify strengths and networks, providing a range of preventative services to support independence.
- To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of services in the local community.
- To take responsibility for consistent, accurate, clear, and timely case recording.
- To be an excellent team player. To be flexible in your approach to work and support colleagues within the team in addition to the wider organisation
- Identifying safeguarding concerns and raising this in a timely manner as well as being proactive in seeking support when is needed.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
This is a busy team with a fast throughput of work, therefore excellent time management skills and the ability to manage your own caseload is essential. We would like to hear from people who are passionate about delivering the best services to our residents.
