You’ll have a key role to influence health policy that affects 1.5 million residents across South West London. This will include engaging with local communities who are impacted by health inequalities and experience unfair differences in health based on where they live or their background. You will provide essential business support to the community engagement and communications team and will document and evidence our engagement activities, ensuring that community feedback is listened to and acted upon.

Main duties of the job

  • Support with the delivery of creative and effective community engagement and communications focusing on engaging with communities that experience health inequalities. For example, programmes like the NHS Joint Forward Plan, the Integrated Care Partnership Strategy, and local place change initiative
  •  Document and evidence insight and engagement that has taken place to ensure local people’s views have been listened to and responded to/acted.
  • Support with the development of effective feedback and ongoing conversations between the ICB and our local communities,
  • Contribute to the design, development and delivery of creative communications strategies, campaigns, and materials
  • Support the team to ensure the NHS legal duty to involve communities is recognised and implemented at a local level.

Duties and Responsibilities

The post holder is expected to bring a broad range of engagement and communications and skills to support the ICB to achieve our four core aims by delivering resident engagement programme.
•Support with the delivery of robust resident engagement to enable service planning and transformation to put resident voice at the heart of decision making and support the team to ensure there is compliance with the Health and Care Act 2022.
•Support ICB staff with community engagement activities and support prioritised projects including giving project leads advice to develop and implement appropriate plans.
•Support with the delivery of a range of involvement and communication channels to support your Place(s) diverse communities.
•Work with the team in running the infrastructure that supports engagement for your Place(s) and the routine and easy delivery of priority engagement requests. Support with mechanisms to represent the views of our diverse communities, with a particular focus on those experiencing health inequalities.
•Work effectively with colleagues across South West London ICB, including primary care networks, local voluntary, community and social enterprises, Healthwatch as well as NHS England and other relevant organisations.
•Support the delivery of engagement for your Place(s) to inform the annual refresh of the Joint Forward Plan and Integrated Care Partnership strategy.
•Document insights with written evidence from all engagement activities, in the form of reports and summary feedback etc, to ensure the views of local people and communities can be evidenced and influence decision making at Place, programme
